“Riobana” is a captivating six-track EP that blends infectious old-school funk, rap, 80s pop, R&B, disco, techno house and bossa nova-inspired rhythms into a romantic musical journey set against the vibrant backdrop of Rio de Janeiro.
Born (Eric Ronald Cooper) in Detroit, Michigan, Ron’s creative roots run deep. His mother, an independent lyricist, and stepfather, creator, bandleader and songwriter of the touring cover group “Heavenn,” who gained popularity throughout the 1980s and 1990s, inspired his early love of music. He began training, playing the piano at a young age, and it built a strong foundation that would eventually define his artistic journey. Outside of music, Ron has cultivated a multifaceted career in fashion retail and fitness. In 1997, he established a private personal training firm in Chicago that relocated to Los Angeles in 2000, which he continues to operate today.
His creativity extended to fashion with the introduction of his men’s athleisure brand, ECF PERFORMANCE during 2012. In conjunction with developing collections for the brand, Ron combined his passion for style and music, producing original soundtracks for ECF's fashion campaigns and promotional videos. It was during this period that his love for songwriting came to life.
In 2025, Ron founded Riotrack Music, an independent music company based in Los Angeles. The company's mission is to create, produce, and promote timeless music that blend cultures, genres, and generations. Through innovative storytelling and forging artistic collaborations, the company is committed to bringing fresh sounds to audiences worldwide while offering artists and songwriters the tools and resources needed to thrive in today’s music industry.The label’s first project, Riobana, embodies that mission— fusing Old School funk, rap, 80s pop, R&B, techno, disco, and bossa nova into bold musical narratives throughout the EP. Ron Alezza’s distinctive style of singing as spoken lyrics brings a poetic, conversational rhythm to his performances, blending storytelling with melody in a way that feels both personal and cinematic. "Beyond being an EP, Riobana I feel represents a new movement in music genres. I created the unique blend of Old School funk, rap, 80s pop, R&B, disco, techno, and bossa nova in order to broaden the sonic experience and listening audience," explains Ron. The style—also called Riobana—forms the vibrant musical fusion that bridges eras and cultures. He adds, “At its heart, “Riobana” is a musical escape that guides listeners through a romantic journey – two souls meeting for the first time, navigating the highs and lows of a relationship, and ultimately achieving unconditional love. It’s a Brazilian paradise. A place where couples can fall in love. The song also represents my love for Rio de Janiero and the Brazilian culture.”

The title track, “Riobana,” a soothing and romantic bossa nova ballad with soulful rhythms, serves as a musical backdrop set in a scene inside a dazzling nightclub pulsing with energy, where a man falls under the spell of a mysterious woman as they dance the night away.
The heat intensifies with “Cha Mama Aha,” a funky fusion of Afro-Latin, disco, and modern rhythms that irresistibly pulls you to the dance floor, where attraction turns to passion through the rhythm of movement and the allure of the woman’s sensual grace.
In “I’m Dreaming When I Think of You,” a sensuous R&B ballad, layered with elegant symphonic melodies, captures the romance as it deepens. The man becomes consumed by love, unable to think of anything else.
But real love faces challenges —“Don’t Shut the Door”, a playful yet emotional groove with bouncy disco melodies and 80s synth-pop rhythms, captures the emotional turbulence of misunderstanding and trust, as the couple navigates the ups and downs of commitment.
